A BRIDGWATER public relations (PR) company is offering paid placements to students looking for work experience in the industry this summer (2010).
Bristol Road-based Porcupine PR, which celebrates its 16th anniversary this year (2010), can offer placements from a few weeks to several months to the right candidates.
Director, Andy Doran, explained: “We’re keen to offer students, who may have just completed their A Levels and who are off to university this autumn or anyone who is on the university summer break, paid work placements so they can gain an insight into the world of PR.
“We will expect candidates to have an interview and take part in our selection process. Successful placement applicants will be fully immersed in the business and be given opportunities to liaise with clients and write media releases.”
Porcupine PR is also recruiting new staff this summer and is hoping to add four new graduate Trainee PR Consultants to its team of eight immediately.
Andy continued: “We’re looking for four new members of staff to help us expand the business further. Details of the role and an application form can be found on our website by visiting www.porcupinepr.co.uk.”
Porcupine PR was launched in 1994 by former Guardian media journalist Rachel Burks. The company specialises in retail and business to business clients, and has helped large national companies, such as the supermarket chain Tesco, with their PR projects.
In the South West, Porcupine PR’s clients include Bristol-based international online retailer www.BritishCornerShop.co.uk, Sanders GardenWorld at Brent Knoll and tyre and vehicle repair specialists, Protyre.
