Gemma promoted to Graduate PR Consultant

GEMMA Banham from Burnham-on-Sea has been promoted to Graduate PR Consultant for the award-winning Bridgwater-based public relations company Porcupine PR Ltd.

The 23-year-old will continue to help with promoting the company’s key regional clients including the customer experience expert Diciamo in Bristol.

Porcupine PR Managing Director, Rachel Burks, said: “Gemma is an integral part of the team at Porcupine PR. Since joining us in 2010 as a Graduate Trainee, Gemma has worked hard to achieve her new position and I’d like to congratulate her on her promotion.”

Gemma graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2010 with a degree in American Studies with International Study.

Before attending university, Gemma studied for A Levels at Richard Huish College in Taunton.

In her spare time, she is a keen cook and enjoys experimenting with new recipes. Gemma is also a film fan and likes to keep up to date with all the latest releases.

Gemma added: “Since joining Porcupine PR in October last year (2010), I have been able to acquire lots of great experience in the world of public relations and have honed my skills. 

“I am delighted with my new position and I hope to continue expanding my knowledge and abilities within the role.”

Porcupine PR is currently celebrating its 17th anniversary this year (2011). It was launched in 1994 by Rachel, who is a former Guardian Media Group journalist. The company specialises in retail clients and has in the past helped large national companies, such as the supermarket chain Tesco, with their PR projects.

In the South West, Porcupine PR’s clients include Growth Technology in Taunton and Cossey Produce in Bridgwater.

On a regional basis the agency works for the tyre and vehicle repair specialists, Protyre and nationally and internationally, the company also represents the training firm, Adaptis.
