Porcupine PR appoints new Trainee PR Consultant

SALLY Forrest from Bridgwater has been appointed as a Graduate Trainee PR Consultant for the town’s award-winning public relations (PR) company Porcupine PR Ltd.

The 27-year-old will help with promoting the company’s key regional clients including smallholding product supplier Ascott in Malmesbury, Wiltshire and fresh fruit and vegetable wholesaler Cossey Produce in Bridgwater.

Porcupine PR’s Managing Director, Rachel Burks, said: “Sally is a very welcome addition to our team at Porcupine PR. We look forward to working with her on lots of new and exciting projects.”

Sally graduated from Portsmouth University where she studied English Literature and Media Studies. Prior to attending university, she studied for A Levels in Nottingham.

Before working at Porcupine PR, Sally served with the Royal Navy.

In her spare time, Sally likes to walk and has recently completed the three peaks challenge. She also enjoys baking cupcakes.

Sally added: “PR is something that has always been of great interest to me and I am eager to start developing a number of new skills. I am looking forward to my new role here at Porcupine PR and I’m excited about the future.

“Having joined such an established and successful company, I am delighted to be helping maintain the organisation’s reputation.”

Porcupine PR is currently celebrating its 17th anniversary this year (2011). It was launched in 1994 by Rachel, who is a former Guardian Media Group journalist. The company specialises in retail clients and has in the past helped large national companies, such as the supermarket chain Tesco, with their PR projects.

In the South West, Porcupine PR’s clients include Sanders Garden World at Brent Knoll and Diciamo in Bristol.

On a regional basis the agency works for the tyre and vehicle repair specialists, Protyre and nationally and internationally, the company also represents the training firm, Adaptis.
