A NATIONAL healthcare charity for deaf people has appointed the award-winning public relations agency Porcupine PR to help publicise and promote its work.
The PR firm, which is based in Bridgwater in Somerset, will be responsible for enhancing the profile of SignHealth and publicising fundraising events and services the organisation offers.
Steve Powell, Chief Executive at SignHealth, explained: “We’re delighted to be working with Porcupine PR.
“We signed the company for a three month period from December, 2010 until February, 2011 to help publicise our sign2sing event and they did such a fantastic job that we have decided to work with them on a full-time basis.
“We are looking forward to working with the team at Porcupine PR on a number of ideas we have in the pipeline, including launching our 2012 sign2sing event.”
SignHealth is the healthcare charity for deaf people, providing health-related services and campaigning for fair access and improved communication.
Porcupine PR was launched in 1994 by former Guardian Media Group journalist Rachel Burks, who is the company’s Managing Director. It has charity, horticultural, retail and training clients and has helped large national companies, such as the supermarket chain Tesco, with their PR projects.
Rachel explained: “We’re delighted with our new appointment and are looking forward to working with SignHealth to meet its goals and maximise its PR potential.”
