STUDENTS from the Royal London Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in London will be performing for free in Bridgwater next weekend (Saturday, December 2, 2017).
The string trio, which includes Malgorzata Zwierzchowska on violin, Kinga Wojdalska on viola and Jakub Wycislik on cello, will be at The River Parrett Restaurant on December 2.
Owner of the Salmon Parade business, Mariusz Muskietorz, who also owns the Maja Delicatessen in Bridgwater, said: “On Saturday, December 2, we’ll have some super talented students from the Royal London Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in London providing the classical, musical accompaniment for our diners.
“They will be performing pieces from different styles of music including classical, jazz and film scores. They will also play some Christmas tunes, so it promises to be a fun and entertaining evening. The performance will start at 7pm. A perfect pre-Christmas treat!”
Malgorzata was born in 1998 in Warsaw. She is a Royal Academy of Music undergraduate student. She graduated from a specialist music school in Warsaw and then started her music studies with professor Philippe Honore in London. Małgorzata performs as a soloist and a chamber player.
She’s been a member of Polish National Youth Orchestra for three consecutive years, taking part in numerous concert tours, and has performed in renowned concert halls in Europe including London, Warsaw, Poznań and Cracow.
Kinga was also born in 1998 and comes from Poland too. In 2017, she graduated from the Zenon Brzewski Secondary School in Warsaw. Currently she is a student of the Royal College of Music in London in the Yuri Zhislin class.
During her education at school, she took part in national, as well as international programs in solo, chamber and orchestral music. She cooperated with lots of professionals such as Yuri Bashmet, Kim Kashkashian, Yu Jin, Teng Li and Bonian Tian. From 2015until 2017 she was a leader of the viola section in the Polish Youth Orchestra, which gave her a chance to work with musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.
Kinga is laureate of several solo and chamber national and international competitions. She has also performed in many prestigious concert halls in Polish cities and abroad including Bydgoszcz, Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Musikverein in Vienna, Berlin, Freiburg, Genève and Boston. Apart from her classical performing, Kinga also sometimes plays with jazz and pop groups at smaller events.
Jakub is a Polish cellist born in 1998. He studied in Karol Szymanowski Music School in Katowice, which he graduated from with honours in 2017. Currently he is studying cello with renowned British cellist, Josephine Knight at The Royal Academy of Music in London.
He regularly attends international music masterclasses and courses, as well as having been awarded many prizes at national and international competitions including the International String Instruments Competition in Elblag (Poland), the International Competition of Bohdan Warchal, playing the bow string instruments in Dolny Kubin (Slovakia), and many more.
He has collaborated with orchestras such as the Silesian Philharmonic, Polish National Youth, Silesian Chamber, AUKSO Chamber, Archetti and Satellite Orchestras. Jakub plays on a 1772 cello by Joseph Hill, kindly on loan to him from the Royal Academy of Music.
The string trio will be performing at The River Parrett Restaurant on Saturday, December 2 from 7pm.
Mariusz added: “We’re delighted these three musicians have agreed to come down to perform for our diners. Anyone wishing to attend just needs to book a table as normal and the music will be performed as complimentary.”
