HOME cooks looking to take some time out from the kitchen this Christmas Day (2017) can bring friends and family to dine at The Bower Inn on the big day instead.
This week (October 9), the award-winning boutique hotel, restaurant and pub in Bridgwater has officially revealed its three-course menu for December 25 and is now taking bookings.
Head Chef, Tom Jones explained: “Christmas Day can be very stressful if you’re the one in charge of all the cooking. We open on Christmas Day so that people can have a break from the pots and pans and all the washing up. We’re happy to do the work, so you can have a laid-back morning, opening presents and enjoying your time with your loved ones.
“This way after lunch, there’s no bickering about the tidying up either and you can just go home and relax in front of the TV! Coming for a meal out means no one has to feel under pressure to get things done.
“Our Christmas Day Menu celebrates the very best of Westcountry and Somerset-sourced ingredients, and looks set to be a wonderful way for those wishing to have some time off from the chores and a stress-free lunch out on the big day.
“Full details regarding the menu can be found on our website www.thebowerinn.co.uk/eat/eat.html but rest assured we’ve got all the traditional favourites including turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pud. For those who aren’t keen on these dishes, we’ve lots of other options available too with special dishes in each course for vegetarians. There’s also a fish main course if you’d prefer that too. All our dishes are made in-house from the very best fresh ingredients that we are able to source locally.”
The Bower Inn’s owners, Peter Starling and Candida Leaver, took over The Bower Inn, which was a rundown and empty country pub, in 2010 and have spent the past seven years refurbishing it and rejuvenating the business.
Tom added: “They’ve created a successful pub, restaurant and boutique hotel with an excellent reputation for ambience and food. We work hard as a team to deliver the very best in customer service too.
“We’re open throughout the week, serving seasonal dishes with ingredients sourced from nearby. We serve lunches daily, except Monday, and are open every evening for dinner. We now have 16 beautiful and individual hotel rooms that are cosy and comfortable, and we offer B&B accommodation as well.”
