Never under estimate the power of an image. A great photo can make a big difference to whether or not your story gets covered, particularly in local newspapers.
Editors want to make their publications look good, they need around three photographs per page and their resources with regards photographers tend to be minimal, so if you/we can help with that, it’s great news all round.
Newspapers like a posed photograph and a format that is very different to home snaps. Please be aware of this.
For the best results we always advise using a professional photographer to take a photo to go with a release.
However, you can also invite the media to send their own photographer to events. If they do attend, be as helpful and positive as possible.
They will probably require staff to be in photos, so provide representatives who promote a good positive image of the business, are smiley and in branded uniform.
